Prior to 2017 NBA training camp, the Los Angeles Lakers signed Andrew Bogut, which marked their fourth center on the roster along with Brook Lopez, Ivica Zubac, and Thomas Bryant. In a time when teams are embracing small ball, most were surprised by the signing.

After suffering a broken leg seconds into his first game with the Cleveland Cavaliers last season, Bogut reveals how he can help the young core of the Lakers through his experiences according to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN:

“I have been through pretty much everything in this league, especially injury-wise, and been on championship teams, winningest teams, crappiest teams, teams with a lot of turnovers,” Bogut says. “I have seen everything.”

Bogut has history with head coach Luke Walton during their time together with the Golden State Warriors, where they won the 2014 NBA Finals. While the 32-year-old has established himself as a rim protector throughout his career, it will be interesting to see how much he has left in the tank.

Heading into the 2017-18 NBA season, Brook Lopez is the team's starter, but it remains to be seen who his backup will be. While Ivica Zubac has improved from his Summer League performances, Bogut has not played and there could be competition between the two players.
