After plenty of speculation, point guard Isaiah Thomas' tumultuous tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers has officially come to an end. Although it may have been brief, his stint in Cleveland certainly did not lack intrigue.

Thomas made it known that he initially did not want to be traded. However, he has now seemingly embraced the opportunity to showcase his resurgence with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Thomas' comeback has been in the works for some time now. Prior to his injury, the two-time All-Star was regarded as one of the premier point guards in the league with the Boston Celtics.

However, things quickly went downhill for Thomas both on and off the court before he was subsequently traded to the Cavs in exchange for point guard Kyrie Irving to serve as the next sidekick alongside forward LeBron James. Unfortunately, looming health concerns and an unclear role on the team resulted in a disastrous tenure for Thomas.

The former pint-sized powerhouse averaged just 14.7 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.1 rebounds in just 15 games for the Cavs. Furthermore, concerns about his defense have now been magnified by his recent stint in Cleveland. Needless to say, Thomas wound up being one of the many scapegoats for the Cavs' struggles as of late.

He has now managed to land with his favorite childhood team in the Lakers which could provide a solid platform for Thomas to get back on his feet. However, it still remains to be seen how head coach Luke Walton plans on using him. Regardless, there is little doubt that he will get more opportunities to shine with the Lakers than he ever did with the Cavs.
