Odom spent seven of his 14 NBA seasons next to Bryant as one of his longest-tenured teammates along with Shaquille O'Neal and Derek Fisher.
The 6-foot-10 forward was a two-time champion alongside Bryant (2009-10) and was named the Sixth Man of the Year during his last season with the Lakers.
Together, they endured the grind of many NBA postseason runs, but the love for each other didn't show any more than it did when Odom was battling for his life at a Las Vegas hospital after being found unconscious following a drug overdose.

Needless to say, Bryant's milestone birthday would not go unnoticed by the lefty swingman, who wrote a heartfelt note on his Instagram account all the way from Hong Kong.
“There are no words in this world that can describe the mad love I have for you,” Odom wrote. “I appreciate you Bean, you have been there for me during my darkest times until today an I hope until the end of times.”
The ties between these two are as strong as they ever were.
