LaVar Ball, the opinionated father of Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball is convinced that if the rumor of Cleveland Cavaliers superstar small forward and reigning player of the month in February LeBron James coming to La La Land turn true this summer, if will be because of his son.

And who would expect anything else from LaVar when talking on the subject.

In his mind, it isn't a rumor, but something soon to be spoken into existence, as it's only a matter of time before the Big Baller sees his son partnering up with the best player in the league (not named his son, according to him).

“Now LeBron say, ‘I’ll go to LA.’ He didn’t say that before Lonzo got there,” LaVar said during a recent appearance on Delfi TV in Lithuania via Josh Martin of LonzoWire. “So when I tell them, ‘Yeah, he coming because Lonzo’s here,’ people look at me crazy and be like, ‘So he’s just coming just because your son is here?’ Yeah. He’s young and passes the ball, so he’s coming because my boy is here.”

The Lakers have cleared enough cap space to make max offers to the likes of James and Paul George this summer, hopeful to bring a renaissance of the Showtime era by attracting big-time free agents with a young, promising core, and a charismatic Hall of Famer in Magic Johnson heading the front office.

In LaVar's mind, he's already paired the two, obviously touting his young son as the reason James will take his game to the next level.

“They give me crap. ‘How will he make LeBron better?'” the older Ball said. “Easy: gonna get him easier shots. Zo will throw him the ball with a mismatch in the post. Now he play more in the post. Easy buckets. Now he get the ball earlier.

“That’s what Lonzo does. He makes everybody else better.”

James has yet to make a decision on the matter, but if he does bolt for the Lakers, rest assured LaVar will be the first to take the credit for making his own dreams come true.
