The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, but All-Star point guard Damian Lillard says nobody really won because of the tragic death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

LA honored Bryant, his daughter Gigi and the other victims of the helicopter crash before the game on Friday and players on both teams were crying and very emotional.

Lillard said he will never forget what Friday night brought to him.

“I’m just going to take from it the memories and the special moment before the game. Nobody wins tonight,” Damian Lillard told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “You don’t walk away from this game with too much to be proud about because of the circumstances. We got the win, but I think the moment and what it was about tonight is the one thing I won’t forget.”

Lillard did his best to honor Kobe, putting up 48 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds against the Lakers. The Blazers won by eight points, almost fitting since Bryant wore No. 8 at the beginning of his legendary career.

Friday's game between the Lakers and Blazers was easily one of the most emotional games in NBA history. Seeing Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis in tears was a hard sight to see, but Bryant's legacy and spirit will always be with us.

As for the Blazers, they are back in action on Saturday when they host Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz.
