Los Angeles Lakers starting forward Danny Green was one of the biggest unsung heroes of the Lakers' Game 1 blowout win over the Miami Heat. Green managed to put up 11 points and knock down three of his eight attempts from long-distance and even added three blocks and two steals to his name. The 33-year old also tallied the second-highest +/- rating in Wednesday's game as he finished the game with a +21 behind Anthony Davis' +23. For what it's worth, LeBron James was only a +10.

Lakers starter Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had nothing but praises to his fellow swingman after his huge Game 1 performance and even gave Green a new nickname.

“We know what Danny can do and we just encourage him every game to keep shooting. We know that Playoff Danny is going to come out and knock down shots like he did tonight.” Caldwell-Pope said (via Finals Faigen of SB Nation).

Looking at his playoff resume, you'll see where KCP is coming from. Green won his second NBA ring last year as a member of the Toronto Raptors and he's searching for his third as a first-year member of the Purple & Gold. Just like LeBron James, Green is on the cusp of winning his third championship for three different teams.

Though he's been notoriously inconsistent throughout his career, Green has been able to put himself in a position to make crucial plays down the stretch – especially in the Finals. In his three NBA Finals appearances so far, the former NBA All-Defensive Team member has averaged 10.4 points per game in 18 NBA Finals games in the span of seven years. Green has also knocked down 50 of his 136 three-point attempts for an impressive 37% shooting-clip in the Finals which has been good enough to earn him two NBA titles so far.

Given how Green has been able to propel his game during a championship series though, maybe ‘Finals Danny' would be more fitting.
