Dwight Howard rejoined the Los Angeles Lakers this summer, reuniting with his former team. The former No. 1 overall pick says he has two goals for the coming season: winning and claiming another championship for the Purple and Gold.
Howard, who recently officially signed with the Lakers, made his goals for this season clear in a Wednesday press conference:

This marks Howard's second stint with the Lakers. He averaged 17.1 points and a league-best 12.4 rebounds in his first stint in 2012-13, but there was a lot of drama and he dealt with back issues throughout the season. This go-round, he's just trying to make the team and contributing in any way he can.
Howard, who's now entering his 16th year of service in the NBA, appeared in nine games with the Washington Wizards last season, racking up averages of 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds in 25.6 minutes per game.
The Lakers will be looking to rebound from a disappointing season in which they failed to make the playoffs once again. Los Angeles was actually in contention for a spot in the postseason through the early stages of the 2018-19 campaign. However, LeBron James went down with a groin injury in December, which forced him to the sidelines for a substantial amount of time. As a result, the Lakers fell out of the hunt.
