Dwight Howard is looking to save his basketball career in his second stint with the Lakers. To say Howard is on a short leash with Los Angeles would be an understatement. The former superstar is signing a non-guaranteed deal with the team. This comes after Howard made $5.45 million last season with the Washington Wizards.

Howard's fall from grace in the NBA has been really sad to watch. When he was with the Orlando Magic, Howard was universally recognized as the best center in the game. But since his prime days with the Magic ended, Howard has been a shell of himself and caused locker room problems with the Lakers, Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets and Wizards.

Howard wore No. 12 during his first stint with Los Angeles and averaged 17.1 points and 12.4 rebounds per game. This time around, Howard won't be a focal point of the Lakers' offense. Instead, he'll be JaVale McGee's backup and asked to rebound and block shots.
