Both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat have been rumored to be in the mix for a blockbuster trade that would reshape the landscape of the NBA. LA has been linked to a swoop for Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets, while Miami seems to be highly interested in Kyrie's teammate and real-life BFF, Kevin Durant. Nothing has significantly materialized for either of these two deals, though, which has led to NBA analyst Bill Simmons conjuring up a sensational trade scenario between the two sides.

According to Simmons, the Lakers and the Heat should consider a swap between Anthony Davis and Jimmy Butler. In his mind, the renowned NBA broadcaster believes that Pat Riley and his front office would actually be amenable to such a deal:

“And if the Lakers called Miami up and said, ‘We’ll give you Anthony Davis for Jimmy Butler,’ Miami is either doing it or they’re having a seven-hour meeting before they decide not to do it,” Simmons said (h/t Jonathan Sherman of Heat Nation). “But I just think they would do it. If they can turn Jimmy Butler into Anthony Davis, I think they do it.”

To be clear, there have been no indications that the Lakers or the Heat have placed either Davis or Butler on the trade block. Nevertheless, Simmons thinks a swap between these two superstars would work.

In a one-for-one deal between Anthony Davis and Jimmy Butler, which team would come out on top as the big winner?
