Los Angeles Lakers president Jeanie Buss admits she doubted some of the people she was working with during the Anthony Davis trade saga.

During a live podcast taping this week, Buss says she sat down with the people she works with. During the Davis trade saga, a lot of sensitive details were leaked to the media.

“There was a story that came out this season — and we've had our challenges this season — and it kind of made me doubt for a second some of the people that I was working with,” Buss said, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

“Instead of calling the media who were reporting it, I sat down with the people that I work with and had face-to-face communication and realized that that was what we're dealing with now in this day and age, that the stories come so fast and furious that they try and get you off-base. And they get you off from the direction that you're headed.”

The Lakers weren't able to trade for Davis, as the Pelicans reportedly didn't want to send The Brow to Los Angeles.

This season, the first year of the LeBron James era, has been a disaster ever since The King suffered a serious groin injury on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors. All the leaks to the media pretty much tore up the Lakers' locker room, and Jeanie Buss saw it all unfold.
