After all the excitement during the offseason, training camp is officially underway for the Los Angeles Lakers. Following a near triple-double performance at the Las Vegas Summer League en route to earning the Most Valuable Player award, all the attention is on Lonzo Ball.
While some teammates played with Ball in Las Vegas, Julius Randle already has high praise for the team's rookie according to Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints:

In trading D'Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets, President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka made it clear who the team's point guard of the future is. While it was only Summer League, Ball's ability to look ahead and create easy opportunities for his teammates will translate over well once the 2017-18 NBA regular season officially begins against the Los Angeles Clippers.
In a time when point guards are dominating the league with their scoring, Ball brings a refreshing quality back to the most competitive position in the league right now. If Ball is able to showcase his pass-first mentality in his rookie season, players will want to play with him in Los Angeles. It is no secret the Lakers are creating the necessary cap space to sign two max contract players like LeBron James and Paul George in 2018 free agency.
