Saturday night's battle between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors was a game both teams desperately needed to win. It was a seesaw war won by the home team behind a season-high 56 points by LeBron James. The Lakers handed the Warriors their fourth straight defeat, and after the game, a frustrated Stephen Curry discussed how James dominated the game in the second half.

”They were getting a lot of offensive rebounds and then he (James) got a couple of shovel passes in the paint,” Warriors star Stephen Curry told ClutchPoints. “He's huge and we don't have a lot of rim protection, so you give him easy baskets there.”

The Warriors put up a fight at certain moments of the game, but every time they felt like things were under control James had an answer.

“In the third quarter, we made him take tough contested two’s, and he kind of slowed down a little bit,” Curry said of the Lakers star. “Then once you give them transition buckets and give him any type of confidence. He's obviously capable of doing what he did tonight, and that's a tough pill to swallow.”

James’ 56 points are the most points scored in a single game this season. It's a season record shared by him and the Atlanta Hawks' Trae Young. The four-time MVP became the first Laker to tally 55+ points and 10+ rebounds since Shaquille O'Neal on March 6, 2000.

The victory ended a four-game losing streak for the Lakers, and maybe a solid victory can be the start of some good basketball to finish the season.
