Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James took to social media on Tuesday morning to unveil a new “More Than An Athlete” variant of Nike's Air Force 1.

James has long been known as a connoisseur of basketball shoes, and his own line of footwear with Nike has grown exponentially over the course of his career in the NBA. The King's latest release, however, is based on the widely-popular Air Force 1 design.

The Air Force 1 is one of the more recognizable shoes in the world of basketball apparel. The “More Than An Athlete” version is a bit different, though, as it allows owners to customize the canvas material with their own motivational message. That's right… in the box, consumers will find personalized Sharpies.

The sole of James' new shoe is bordered with the message, “I am uninterrupted,” while the words “I am more than” are written across the back.

“I wanted to create a platform for not only athletes, but everybody in the world to feel like they're more than (an athlete),” James said in his post.

James and the Lakers are primed for the start of the 2019-20 NBA campaign. Last season, the three-time champion was forced to the sidelines with a groin injury. As a result, Los Angeles fell further and further out of playoff contention, finishing the season with a 37-45 overall record.

This season, with Anthony Davis joining the roster, James and the Lakers will be looking to make quite a bit of noise in the Western Conference.
