It would take a miracle for the Los Angeles Lakers to qualify for the playoffs. But for four-time MVP LeBron James, it's imperative that the team keeps on playing, especially for the young guys.

Per Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints via Spectrum Sportsnet, the 16-year pro shared that the last few games will be important for the young guys. Win or lose, it will give them much-needed experience.

“Even though the playoffs look like a long shot, it's very important for our young guys to still get a lot of repetition. Get a lot of experience with these games.”

He acknowledged the fact that his team hasn't achieved the success they were aiming after the all-star break. But this does not mean that they won't stop playing. Their 123-107 victory over the Chicago Bulls is a testament to the fact that they played some great ball.

James led all scorers with 36 points on 15-of-23 shooting from the field and 2-of-4 from downtown. He also added 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a ton of showtime dunks.

The Lakers have a 31-36 record for 11th place in the Western Conference. Given that they're 6.5 games behind the eighth seed, it's unlikely that they'll make the playoffs. If so, this will be the first time since the 2004-2005 season — James' sophomore year — that he won't enter the postseason. For the Lakers, it'll be the sixth straight season without a playoff campaign.
