The Lakers are near the top of the standings in the loaded Western Conference, while the Timberwolves are on track to add another first overall pick to their lineup along with Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards.
Article Continues BelowDespite his size, LeBron James is arguably the best passer in the league, regularly finding open Lakers teammates with ease. Along with his many accolades, he is possibly any generation's greatest point forward. In 38 games prior to Tuesday's outing, he was averaging 7.9 assists per contest. Coupled with his 25.5 points and 7.9 rebounds averages, he is once again one of the favorites to come away with the MVP award. Should he bag the coveted trophy this season, that would mark his fifth one.
With his physical tools, great memory, and passing ability it would have been interesting to see the Lakers forward in the NFL. After all, James confessed that he has had thoughts of playing pro football.
Legendary tight ends Tony Gonzales and Antonio Gates played college basketball before entering the NFL. Even Tampa Bay Buccaneer Rob Gronkowski had a basketball background. There is some overlap in the sports of basketball and football when it comes to catching and overall conditioning. It helps that the tight end position is usually played by the tallest people on the team. Maybe James can be a better version of utility player Taysom Hill?
