Unlike most teams, the Los Angeles Lakers haven't made huge splashes this offseason. At least not yet. The addition of Deandre Ayton didn't exactly strike fear into opponents' hearts. But what probably did was the Lakers' most important move this summer: The body overhaul of Luka Doncic.

When he was traded to the Lakers last season, the team agreed to bring in Doncic's personal fitness crew. Since then, they have been working on improving the All-Star guard's physique. Apparently, while most players were taking a break amid the offseason, Doncic was already deep into his body transformation.

Men's Health featured the Lakers star, looking like a rookie version of himself, on the cover of its latest edition. On Monday, Doncic joined the broadcast of the game between the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays. The commentator suggested that the 26-year-old playmaker should send a copy of the magazine to the Dallas Mavericks.

“They probably saw it. I don't have to worry about that,” replied Doncic with a chuckle.

Opponents, however, will have to worry about him and the Lakers. The fitness overhaul demonstrated Doncic's commitment ahead of his first full season with the Purple and Gold.

Even when he was not in optimal shape, Doncic toyed with defenses. What more now that he's in tip-top condition? While some could argue that he would lose some of his strength and couldn't bully defenders anymore, the Lakers' star will surely find other ways to score with his recalibrated physique.

Last season, he averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 1.6 steals in 28 games with Los Angeles.

Recall, Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison cited Doncic's allegedly poor conditioning as one of the reasons he shipped him to the Lakers. The five-time All-NBA First Team member didn't hide his dislike of Harrison and hinted at making the Mavericks pay.

Now, what's your excuse for not going to the gym?
