Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss and executive director of special projects Linda Rambis reportedly trust general manager Rob Pelinka to turn the franchise around, according to Dave McMenamin and Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.
Buss and Rambis have been best friends for a long time, and there's a belief that Linda is the “shadow” owner of the Lakers. Rambis' husband, Kurt, played a key role alongside Pelinka in the recent coaching search.
By all accounts, it doesn't appear Buss is going to hire anyone above Pelinka. Magic Johnson stepped down as president of basketball operations before the season ended during an impromptu press conference at Staples Center. It was a move that shocked everyone in the organization, most notably star LeBron James.

The Lakers pretty much have to sign a star player in free agency this summer or trade for New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis. The team can't afford to have LeBron as the only star player next season on the roster.
