The Los Angeles Lakers have made a second offer for superstar Anthony Davis, one that moves closer to the New Orleans Pelicans' desires after swiftly rejecting an initial âlowballâ offer from them last week, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The offer reportedly has multiple young players, multiple draft picks and salary cap relief for the Pelicans, triggering more of the objectives the Pels were looking to resolve by trading their franchise star.
Lakers president Magic Johnson and Pelicans general manager Dell Demps have had multiple conversations on Monday as the Lakers have become increasingly serious about making a deal happen.
Los Angeles is in a race against the clock, with only three days left before being forced to wait several months to execute a trade for Davis.

Davis recently gave the Pelicans a shortlist of four teams (Lakers, Clippers, Knicks, Bucks) for which he'd be willing to sign a long-term deal with, a proposition that will force the hand of said teams to make a deal happen before the Feb. 7 trade deadline.
The Knicks are currently devoid of assets, while the Bucks will have a tough time making salaries (and conditions) match with the Pelicans due to their roster structure.
