When asked by Andre Drummond why fans love Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso so much, DeMarcus Cousins had a simple answer: “He the GOAT.”

Drummond asked the question while playing the Lakers for the NBA 2K players tournament. Cousins, meanwhile, chose to use the Brooklyn Nets.
The league organized the tourney as a response to the coronavirus-forced suspension. The two centers are then shown competing for a spot in the second round.
Boogie’s subsequent response was reminiscent to that of Lakers superstar LeBron James, who apparently calls Caruso “G.O.A.T.” regularly.
The 26-year-old previously went undrafted in the 2016 NBA draft. He then opted to play for the G-League’s Oklahoma City Blue before signing a two-way contract with the Purple and Gold franchise. In a season of limited minutes off the bench, he captivated fans with his high energy and memorable dunks.

Last offseason, Caruso finally signed a two-year, $5.5 million contract with the team.
Caruso’s popularity skyrocketed even further, and he has since become a bonafide fan-favorite. In fact, social media users have already given him several nicknames, including “Bald Eagle” and “Bald Mamba.” Most importantly, however, he is now a valuable reserve for the first-seeded Lakers.
Despite averaging a measly 5.4 points in 17.8 minutes, the 6-foot-5 guard is often called for his high defensive capabilities.
Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the league has been entertaining several considerations moving forward. These include drastic possibilities such as the cancellation of the 2019-20 season. Fans are still hoping for the best as they currently settle for the virtual tournament and last season’s highlights. Unfortunately, they might need to settle for a little bit longer.
