For some reason, Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso has a huge fan base. The Lakers made a Alex Caruso mixtape this past offseason and posted it on social media. The video got 3.1 million views on Twitter and Lakers superstar LeBron James even thought it was great. Several other Caruso photos and videos have gone viral online.

Caruso played his college ball at Texas A&M. He signed a two-way contract with the Lakers on July 13, 2017. Caruso signed a two-year, $5.5 million deal with Los Angeles this past summer, his first guaranteed deal in the NBA.

So how much do Caruso's Lakers teammates love him? Apparently a lot, as LeBron James calls him The GOAT:

“Every time I see him and say, ‘Hey, Bron,’ he just calls me G.O.A.T.,” Caruso said with a laugh, via The New York Times. “The first couple times it kind of threw me off. Now it’s just an everyday thing.”

Last season, Caruso averaged 9.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 25 games. He had a monster putback dunk against the Golden State Warriors at Staples Center, a play which got LeBron out of his seat on the bench.

This season for the Lakers, Caruso is putting up 5.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He's shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 36.6 percent from beyond the arc and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line.
