Dwight Howard has a message for Los Angeles Lakers fans: He's “looking forward to giving 110%” next season and helping the Purple and Gold win a championship.

The Lakers signed Howard to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal after DeMarcus Cousins tore his left ACL during a pick-up game in Las Vegas. Howard will back up JaVale McGee at the center position.

The last time Dwight Howard was on the Lakers, he averaged 17.1 points and 12.4 rebounds in 76 regular season games while shooting 57.8 percent from the field. However, Howard didn't have the best relationship with Kobe Bryant or head coach Mike D'Antoni and wasn't able to lead Los Angeles to any playoff wins in the 2013 postseason sans Bryant — who was out with a torn Achilles.

The Lakers got swept by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the 2013 playoffs. Howard was ejected in Game 4 at Staples Center and left LA on bad terms with some people in the organization. The former superstar signed with the Houston Rockets in free agency that summer.

This time around, Howard is at a different stage of his NBA career. He's no longer a star and will have a minimal role on the Lakers. If Howard can rebound, block shots and give LA around 10 points per game off the bench without being a distraction, Lakers fans will learn to love Dwight again.
