Last season, Nick Young appeared lost in the Los Angeles Lakers‘ offense and eventually struggled to regain his minutes under then-head coach Byron Scott. His averages went down across the board and he had the worst season of his career as he could not fit in the team's system.
Now with a new coach, Luke Walton, the 31-year-old shooting guard is looking forward to playing his natural game this coming season and prove that he can contribute off the bench. During a recent interview, he explained why he played differently last year and what changed so far in training camp:
Nick Young saying how Walton's offense is different than Byron's: "1st year he didn't want us to shoot 3's."

Known as a knock-down shooter especially from beyond the three-point line, Young will be able to thrive in the offensive sets his coach will have in place. During his time with the Golden State Warriors, Walton had his players run a fast-paced tempo and allowed them to shoot wide-open threes when the opportunity presented itself. The coaching staff and the team's fans are expecting a bounce-back season from Young as that style of play will surely fit his game.
