DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks have been talked about quite frequently. Cooper Flagg's rookie season is receiving plenty of attention (and rightfully so), while the potential of an Anthony Davis trade will continue to be often discussed until he is either moved or the trade deadline comes and goes. However, Max Christie's elite three-point shooting season is flying under the radar outside of Dallas.

Christie — who was acquired as part of the shocking Anthony Davis-Luka Doncic trade last year — has emerged as one of the best long-range shooters in the entire NBA. The guard is shooting 45.9 percent from deep which is good for fifth in the league. Christie is also taking the most three-point shots of his career with a mark of 5.5 per outing, yet his efficiency is also at a career-best rate.

The 22-year-old has simply been locked in this year in what has been an overall difficult campaign for the team. He's been especially impressive from the corner, connecting on over 48 percent on those attempts.

Christie recently said he is open to participating in the NBA 3-Point Contest if he receives the invite. At this point, it would be surprising if Christie did not get the call. He is more than deserving of a spot in the contest.

Christie is also more than deserving of receiving more attention. The Mavericks' other storylines and overall underperformance have led to Christie being overlooked on a consistent basis, but he will become impossible to ignore if he continues to find the bottom of the net from deep at such an elite rate.

Perhaps Max Christie's scorching hot long-range scoring can help the Mavs get back into contention. At the moment, they are in 12th place in the Western Conference standings.
