While the 28-year-old Tennessee product is not a familiar name to many, he has a ton of international basketball experience, having spent the majority of his career overseas, particularly in Europe.

He last suited up for Galatasaray in the Turkish Basketball League, where he has been an integral part of the team.
Scott Hopson went undrafted in the 2011 NBA Draft, but did not give up on his dream to play at the highest level. He took his talents to Greece before bouncing from one professional league in Europe to another, and before getting rewarded with a very short stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2014-2015 season. He played in two games for the Cavs. He was then assigned to the Canton Charge of the G-League, before once again going overseas.

The signing of Hopson will give him the opportunity to help the team in their quest to have a more respectable record, as well as prove that he belongs in the NBA. Despite the recent addition of Kyle Collinsworth and Doug McDermott to their fold, the Mavs will now have additional personnel to look at even for a brief period, as they continue to find the best combinations that will bring them the most success.
