It seems like the controversial result of the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest really soured on Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant.
After seeing what transpired on Saturday night, the high-flying point guard posted a cryptic tweet, likely indicating he will never enter the Slam Dunk competition.
y’all just made my decision easier 🤝💯 https://t.co/RNV80N0cIY

So, that's it? We're not seeing Ja versus Zion in the dunk contest anymore?
This is such a bummer since Morant is already one of the most exhilarating in-game dunkers in the NBA today at just 20-years old. For sure, there are a lot of creative dunks in his repertoire given his ability to jump out of the gym.
NBA fans called on the Grizzlies youngster to join this year's contest due to his insane aerial in-game highlights throughout his rookie campaign. However, the no. 2 overall pick passed on the opportunity this year. Now, following what happened to Aaron Gordon, whom the majority believed was robbed of the trophy, it seems like we will never see Morant participate in the competition ever.

It's clear from Morant's tweet who he saw as the winner.
Derrick Jones Jr. took home the crown, edging out the Orlando Magic forward by a solitary point in the second round of the tie-breaker. However, the result did not sit well with a lot of people.
It's really a shame that Gordon did not take home the crown, especially after earning five 50's and dunking over a 7-foot-5 Tacko Fall for his finale. Gordon, likewise, arguably had the dunk of the night, a clean 360 alley-oop dunk off the side of the backboard.
As for Morant, he no longer needs to worry about deciding whether he will join next year's competition. Instead, he can place his focus on leading the Memphis Grizzlies to a surprising playoff appearance this season.
