The Memphis Grizzlies will be without JaMychal Green for at least one month after the 28-year-old forward suffered a broken jaw.

Green sustained the injury during his start for the Grizzlies against the Atlanta Hawks. He played in only 14 minutes before being elbowed in the face. The 6-foot-9 forward scored six points and grabbed five rebounds during his time on the court.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Green is now set to miss four to six weeks following surgery to his jaw. The big man isn't also “expected to be cleared for contact” for a month after the procedure.

JaMychal Green has already made two starts for the Grizzlies this season, averaging 7.5 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Last season, he put up 10.3 points, 8.4 boards, and 1.4 assists in 55 games (54 starts) for Grind City.

In his absence, Memphis is expected to start Jaren Jackson Jr. at the power forward position. The 19-year-old rookie had a standout performance against the Hawks, recording 24 points, seven rebounds, and two dimes.

Jackson, selected fourth overall in this year's draft, is currently averaging 17.0 points, six rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. This is based on a small sample size, but the youngster is showing flashes of the potential that Memphis saw in him when they drafted Jackson.
