Add Milwaukee Bucks second-year point guard Malcolm to the stack of hurt bodies in the NBA today. During Thursday’s road game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Brogdon went down with a lower-body injury while attempting a layup on the break in the second quarter.

It was later reported by Matt Velasquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Brogdon had sustained a “left quad tendon strain” and would not return to the contest.

Before exiting the Minnesota game, Malcolm managed to score four points on 2-for-3 shooting from the field in only 10 minutes of action, The 2016-17 NBA Rookie of the Year winner entered the contest with averages of 13.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists while also shooting 37.8 percent from deep.

The extent of Malcolm Brogdon’s injury and his immediate status for the next game are still unknown, but should he miss any time, it would be a significant blow for Milwaukee’s backcourt. Apart from Brogdon, the Bucks are also iffy about the availability of starting point guard Eric Bledsoe, who did not play on Thursday because of an ankle injury.

For the meantime, Matthew Dellavedova, Sean Kilpatrick, and even 40-year-old Jason Terry should expect nice bumps in minutes this Friday against the New York Knicks at home while there are no conclusive reports yet with regards to the status of Brogdon and Bledsoe.

Brogdon, who was taken in the second round of last year’s NBA Draft out of Virginia, missed three of the Bucks’ six games due to a sore right calf.
