As the NBA trade deadline approaches, rumors are starting to get around. One of the most prominent rumblings out there is how the Milwaukee Bucks are frontrunners in getting L.A. Clippers center DeAndre Jordan.
But a recent tweet from Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times may finally kill this rumor.
As I reported several weeks ago, Bucks keenly interested in Clippers' DeAndre Jordan. However, source said today Bucks aren't the frontrunners for him. Deadline is Feb. 8.

Again, we can never be too sure, as these declarations can just come and go as teams talk before the NBA trade deadline. But it's interesting to look at them, especially in this case because of how it can impact the Bucks and the Clippers.
The Bucks are doing pretty good right now. They are 23-21 for the season, sitting at the seventh spot in the East. They have good pieces in Giannis Antetokounmpo, Eric Bledsoe, Khris Middleton, and Malcolm Brogdon. But someone like Jordan would bring them to the next level.

On the other hand, the Clippers have been battling through injuries as Blake Griffin, Austin Rivers, Patrick Beverley, and Danilo Gallinari have all missed a significant number of games.
The ship is not entirely sinking for the Clippers, as they are also at 23-21 so far. But let's remember that Jordan has a player exception for the 2018-19 season. So it may be a good idea to get some value for him now before the ship sinks some more and the center decides to leave.
If the Bucks are not frontrunners to get Jordan, then who could be the potentially-lucky team? Is it an established contender like the Cleveland Cavaliers? Is it someone looking for a centerpiece like the Dallas Mavericks? Whoever it is, that team will not be disappointed. Jordan is averaging 11.8 points, 14.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
Although it should be noted that Jordan is rumored to be leaning more towards the Houston Rockets as a possible destination.
