In spite of all of the speculation, Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns does not want to be traded.

According to Chris Hine of The Minneapolis Star Tribune, Towns says all of the rumors about him wanting out of Minnesota are nothing but click bait.

“I think you’ve been around me long enough to know I don’t go for all the …,” Towns said. “I just do my job, go home and I know what the real story is. There’s a reason those stories are made because people need to sell papers, sell links and clicks, whatever the case may be. I’m here to be a Minnesota Timberwolf. Very fortunate I have a head coach like [Ryan Saunders], a President and friend like [Gersson Rosas]. I’m not worried about all that nonsense.”

Towns was originally selected by the Timberwolves with the first overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft.

While he has been outstanding individually since then, the team has not followed suit.

Since drafting Towns, Minnesota has made just one playoff appearance. Which came in the form of a first-round exit at the hands of the Houston Rockets in 2018.

This is nothing new for a Timberwolves franchise that has made just one trip to the postseason since 2005. But with such a dominant player in Towns on board, you would think Minnesota would have more success.

Knee issues have limited Towns to just 24 games this season. But when he has been on the floor, he has been terrific, averaging 26.5 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.
