Front office moves aren't always groundbreaking decisions, but Connelly's track record indicates he could make a substantial impact with the Timberwolves right away. He made the call to draft now two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, which nobody projected for the Serbian big in his first season. Denver is notorious for its choice and development of draft picks, a facet of the organization that Connelly plays a central role in.

The executive has asked for an increase in pay, which the Nuggets have yet to comply with thus far. Connelly has yet to reach an NBA Finals in his tenure with the Nuggets and has drawn criticism for recent moves.
Connelly has explored other offers in the past but may be enticed by the paycheck he could earn from the Timberwolves ownership group. With in-person meeting taking place, it is seemingly a matter of time until an offer is extended and a decision is made.
