Rumors have been circulating that Jimmy Butler of the Minnesota Timberwolves is unhappy with the team and thus, wants out. Head coach Tom Thibodeau isn't having any of these rumors.

As reported by Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune, he'll never believe such whispers if it doesn't come out of Butler's mouth. Besides, Thibodeau has been in the business for a long time. He's well aware of the way of the grapevine:

“I’ve been around a long time; I don’t buy into any of that stuff,” Thibodeau said. “You have to distinguish what’s real and what’s not real. You never heard any of that come from Jimmy’s mouth. It’s always a source close to Jimmy. If Jimmy has something to say to someone, he usually says it directly …

Thibodeau added that Jimmy Butler does not have many reasons to be unhappy, given the state of the Wolves organization. The team finished eighth in the dreaded Western Conference. It was their first playoff appearance since 2004. Broken down, they were 27-10 against Western teams with Butler, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Andrew Wiggins in the lineup. For Thibodeau, Butler is a critical piece, and they want him to know that.

“We wanted him to know how important he is to the future of the organization. The winning will take care of that. We know the position we’re in. We have a lot to offer him. We think this is the best place for him, and it’s up to us to show him the reasons why.”
