The Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers put on quite the NFL show in Week 18 that sent the sports world into frenzy. In fact, NBA stars like Joel Embiid, Damian Lillard, Zach LaVine, Donovan Mitchell and more couldn't help but be amazed by the wild turn of events.
When it looked like the Raiders were on their way to the win, Justin Herbert fueled the Chargers to a fourth-quarter comeback to send the game to overtime. A tie would have sent both hungry NFL franchises to the Wild Card round while a loss would topple one out of contention, so there were talks that Las Vegas and LA would just let the clock run out when they were both tied at 32 in the closing stages of OT.
However, that wasn't the case at all, as the Raiders opted to kick the ball at field goal range to break the deadlock and win 35-32.
Damian Lillard and Zach LaVine, who are clearly huge Raiders fans, were both in awe and celebrated rightfully after the all-important victory.
Wow… #RaiderNation

Raiders QB Derek Carr admitted after the thrilling NFL showdown that the Chargers calling a timeout with 38 seconds left changed their mind about settling for a tie. Apparently, talks about both teams running out the clock instead was in play. With that said, Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns were confused by the play-calling.
Chargers should’ve never taken that TO… I think they would’ve ran out the clock

Why the chargers call a timeout???

Others were simply in awe of the competitiveness of both teams. Donovan Mitchell, Kevin Huerter and Jalen Brunson all took to Twitter to share how hyped they were on what is easily one of the wildest finishes in the NFL this season.
Good. For sports everywhere. PLAY TO WIN THE GAME

The Pittsburgh Steelers benefit the most from the Raiders' win, while the Chargers will be in tears over what could have been for them.
