NBA Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Charles Barkley says when New Orleans Pelicans superstar big man Anthony Davis signed with Rich Paul of Klutch Sports before the season started, he “knew the fix was in” to get AD to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Rich Paul is the agent of Lakers star small forward LeBron James. Ever since Anthony Davis joined Klutch Sports, rumors of The Brow teaming up with James have been circulating nonstop.
Davis can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2020. The Pelicans can offer the former No. 1 overall pick the supermax extension after this season ends.

If Anthony Davis turns down the supermax extension from the Pelicans, does New Orleans have to think about trading him? The Pelicans can't take the risk of losing Davis for nothing in free agency. Rich Paul has probably been in the ear of Davis telling him that if he wants to win a championship, playing with LeBron James is the best route to take.
Davis is averaging 28.0 points, 12.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game this season. The five-time All-Star is shooting 50.4 percent from the field, 33.8 percent from beyond the arc and 81.1 percent from the free-throw line. Despite AD putting up monster numbers, the Pelicans are just 15-17, 12th in the Western Conference.
Anthony Davis has consistently said he wants to win in New Orleans. Only time will tell if that's really the case.
