LOS ANGELES – The New Orleans Pelicans are in town to take on the Los Angeles Lakers at possibly the worst time of the year, as the Anthony Davis-to-L.A. have begun to take their place on social media and in the NBA world. Then again, there probably won't ever be a time between now and the next year-and-a-half that a star like Davis isn't somehow linked to the Lakers.
At Friday morning's shootaround, Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry let everyone know once again that the team will not be trading Davis. During his pre-game interview later that evening, Gentry was asked if the trade rumors were something that Davis and the team would have to get through together.
“Yeah, but it's fine,” admitted Gentry to ClutchPoints before the game. “I mean, we're not trading him. We're not gonna trade him. He's under contract for another year and a half. That's the easy part on our side. We have no intentions of trading him, and we're not gonna trade him. That starts all the way at the top from our owner all the way down to the last ball boy on our team. We're not trading him.”

Davis is averaging 28 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 steals, and 2.8 blocks per agme in just under 37 minutes per game. He's also shooting an astounding 50.4 percent from the field and 33.8 percent from beyond the arc.
