The New Orleans Pelicans fell short of reaching the playoffs for the two straight seasons, and that has created some uncertainty around the organization's future.
The team's struggled created some chatter around the possibility of the Pelicans entertaining the idea of moving All-Star big man Anthony Davis. During a recent interview with William Guillory of NOLA.com, Davis pushed aside the rumors as anything short of significant.

“Once I first heard (the rumors), then I heard it again, then I heard it again, I just wanted to make sure. I found out it wasn't (true), and that was the beginning of the summer, so I haven't paid attention to it since.”
At that same token, Davis also voiced that he's happy with being a member of the Pelicans. He's set to enter the second year of his five-year, $127.1 million deal while coming off his best individual season where he averaged a career-high 28.0 points and 11.8 rebounds per game.
There was talk earlier this offseason that Boston Celtics could be in play for the 24-year-old at some point next season due to possessing a plethora of trade assets. If there is a sense that they are a little short of contending for a championship, there could be an internal push to acquire Davis.
That said, the Pelicans have made some significant moves to the roster over the last several months with the addition of All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins along with signing former All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo while also re-signing point guard Jrue Holiday.
