New Orleans Pelicans All-Star Anthony Davis has been dealing with a strained right hip, but it sounds like he's on the fast track to recovery. In fact, according to a report from Andrew Lopez of The Times-Picayune, Davis is expected to play in Monday night's game against the Boston Celtics.
Anthony Davis says he expects to play tonight. Pain level is “fine.” Will go thru pregame and see how it goes but he thinks he’ll play.

Davis suffered his injury in the third quarter of Friday night's 114-109 loss to the New York Knicks. Though he finished with 33 points and 12 rebounds, the former Kentucky Wildcat did not play in the fourth quarter until the waning minutes.

Davis then missed the Pelicans' loss to the Washington Wizards on Saturday.
Davis is the unquestioned star in New Orleans. He has played in 16 games this season (all starts), racking up averages of 27.0 points on 49.0 percent shooting from the field (35.3 percent from beyond the arc), 12.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 2.7 blocks and 1.5 steals in 37.4 minutes per outing.
Davis is expected to test his pain threshold in Monday night's shootaround, as Lopez reports. If everything checks out, he'll play against the Celtics. Additional updates should be provided shortly before tip-off.
Monday night's Pelicans-Celtics game is scheduled to tip inside the Smoothie King Center at 8:00 p.m. ET. Curiously, both teams are carrying a 10-10 overall record.
