Anthony Davis is glad to have a plan in place for the remainder of the season, able to play through the rest of the season unless the New Orleans Pelicans decide to go against the NBA's wishes and pull him from the action. The Pelicans plan to play him moderately, between 20 and 25 minutes per game, allowing for younger players to develop through the rest of a season worth forgetting.

“I think things always run smoothly when there’s a plan in place,” Davis said Friday, according to Andrew Lopez of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “That’s what’s in place right now. Until something changes, I’m going to do what they tell me to do. Whenever I get subbed in, I’m going to play as hard as I can and try to help the team.”

The Brow was playing a team-high 37 minutes per game before news of his trade request went viral.

Davis won’t be the only player in the roster to see a decline in his minutes, as guard Jrue Holiday will also see a reduction from his 36.4 minutes per game average.

“I think it’s about going out there and being smart but not with just me but with everybody,” Davis said. “Obviously, we want to play basketball. But I heard everybody’s minutes is being reduced. They want to play the younger guys. I think they want to play those guys. I just want to go out there and play. That’s what I’m going to do.”

It's only a matter of time until Davis, along with the rest of the core that was put around him is traded — making the emphasis of the next 23 games of the season a matter of keeping bodies healthy.
