Earlier in the week, Anthony Davis asked the New Orleans Pelicans for a trade, effectively ending his six-and-a-half year relationship with the organization.
On Wednesday night ahead of their game against the Denver Nuggets, the Pelicans showed their usual pregame intro video, with one notable omission: Davis.
The New Orleans Pelicans removed Anthony Davis from the end of the intro video where it shows the entire team.

Now, Davis is currently sidelined with a finger injury that will keep him out for a couple of weeks as it is, but based on this, you have to wonder if we will see Davis play another game for New Orleans this season at all.
Article Continues BelowWith the Feb. 7 trade deadline looming, it's possible—although not probable—that the Pelicans will trade the superstar big man sometime within the next week. However, if they don't trade him, could Davis end up sitting out the rest of the year, Kawhi Leonard style?
Of course, Davis' circumstances are a bit different from Leonard's, as Leonard had an injury and never requested a trade during the regular season.
But, with the Pelicans knowing that Davis is going to be gone sooner or later, it is entirely possible that New Orleans and Davis come to an agreement to have him sit for the remainder of the year.
I'm sure Davis doesn't want to risk a potential injury, and New Orleans might not even want Davis playing for the team if he clearly has his mind elsewhere.
Regardless, Davis will almost surely be wearing another uniform by opening night next season.
Whether that uniform will be the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks or some mystery team is what we are all waiting to find out.
