Anthony Davis hears the outside noise and chatter about his future with the New Orleans Pelicans, but the superstar big man doesn't pay attention to them and is solely focused on winning a championship this season in The Big Easy.

Davis has two years and $52 million left on his contract with the Pelicans, plus a $29 million player option for the 2020-21 season. The five-time All-Star is eligible for a supermax contract worth over $230 million beginning in 2020.

Davis signed with agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, who represents Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James. The move was well publicized, and many thought AD was looking to leave the Pelicans and join LeBron in Los Angeles.

However, Anthony Davis says he loves the team which he is on and the teammates that he has, via Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports:

“Our goal is to win a championship and be better than last year,” Davis said. “I love these guys. When you got guys that play hard and hustle and have a will to win, it makes it a lot easier for us.”

The Pelicans won their first playoff series in the 2018 postseason since Davis was drafted first overall in the 2012 draft out of the University of Kentucky. New Orleans swept the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round and Davis was a man among boys. In the four-game sweep, Davis posted 33.0 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.8 blocks per game.

Through eight games this season, the Pelicans are 4-4. New Orleans began the year 4-0, but has since lost four-straight since. Davis sat out Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers due to an elbow sprain. The Chicago native is averaging 25.2 points, 13.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists on the season.

Barring something unforeseen, the Golden State Warriors are going to win the title again this season. You have to love Anthony Davis' confidence, though.
