The New Orleans Pelicans host the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday and superstar power forward Anthony Davis will not play.
Davis is resting, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports:

Davis played 21 minutes on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Bucks. AD finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 9-of-16 from the field.
The Pelicans lost to the Bucks by a final score of 130-113.
New Orleans is going to trade Davis this summer. The Pelicans have 12 games left in the regular season.
Article Continues BelowIn 53 games this season, Davis is averaging 26.5 points, 12.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists per contest. The six-time All-Star is shooting 51.5 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 79.3 percent from the free-throw line.
Davis has 35 double-doubles on the season. The Pelicans are 24-29 when The Brow is in the lineup.
This season can't end quick enough for New Orleans and Davis. After starting the season 4-0, New Orleans has been riddled with injuries. Davis' trade request near the trade deadline just made things even worse.
The Pelicans have to be happy that the Los Angeles Lakers' season has been a mess, too. The Lakers' failed trade attempt for Davis broke up the locker room.
New Orleans is 30-40 on the season entering Friday.
