Dwyane Wade, depressingly, no longer plays in the NBA. The Miami Heat legend, though, is clearly already relishing his role as an ambassador for the league and mentor to basketball's next generation of stars.

After Zion Williamson was selected by with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft, the New Orleans Pelicans' new franchise player shared an emotional on-air interview with his mother. His tears no doubt endeared Williamson to anyone watching the draft, and it's safe to say Wade was touched by his tenderness, too.

Wade and Williamson are both represented by Creative Artists Agency, hence the #CAA hashtag.

The consensus National Player of the Year as a freshman, Williamson averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game last season. At 6-foot-7 and a chiseled 285 pounds, his combination of sheer size and overall athleticism is unlike any the game has ever seen before. But Williamson is much more than an athlete, too, combining his singular physical tools with advanced basketball IQ and an unrelenting motor to make him a potentially transcendent player at the next level.

Despite his prodigious level of talent, it's still unclear if Williamson will evolve into a primary playmaker at the next level. He needs to continue refining his jumper both off the dribble and the catch, and doesn't have much experience being a team's top creator. Even if Williamson fails to reach his utmost level of potential, though, he's a surefire impact player on both sides of the ball regardless.

Dwyane Wade, a three-time champion and 16-time All-Star, retired at the conclusion of the 2018-19 season.
