New Orleans Pelicans veteran JJ Redick did not hold back with his comments on Wednesday when he pretty much took a shot at a great majority of the players in the league today. According to the 6-foot-3 combo guard, most guys are now more concerned about their image than the actual game itself.

JJ Redick does have a point here, especially when one takes into consideration the ridiculous amount of money some players spend on their pregame outfits. Of course, it's their own hard-earned money, and they can do whatever they want with it, but what Redick takes issue with here is how this sometimes appears to take precedence over a player's desire to win a ballgame.

As a matter of fact, Redick might even be referring to some of his own teammates with his statement here, considering how the Pelicans have had a terrible season thus far. At 15-26, they have the third-worst record in the Western Conference, and as it seems, there appears to be no light at the end of the tunnel for them. They are not expected to contend this season, but perhaps the lack of a sense of urgency and a desire to get the W is what ticks Redick off.

There are a lot of young guys on the Pelicans, so perhaps Redick has had first-hand experience of players being overly concerned with how they'll look in their street clothes as opposed to how they'll fare on the basketball court. This is certainly a depressing notion, but unfortunately, it seems that Redick is on to something here.
