New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball recorded a triple-double against the Houston Rockets this past Sunday after the NBA reversed three separate assists which were originally awarded to Josh Hart.

Ball's final stat line against the Rockets is now 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, his first triple-double with the Pelicans. The former No. 2 overall pick got a text from Hart letting him know he had gotten the triple-double:

Ball hit seven shots from beyond the arc against the Rockets. It looks like Ball's new shooting mechanics are starting to pay off.

In his first season with the Pelicans, Ball is averaging 10.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists while shooting 38.3 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 50.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Ball spoke to Andrew Lopez of ESPN about his new jump shot. The Pelicans guard says he didn’t make any drastic changes with his shot and took it just step by step this past offseason:

“We just take it step by step,” Ball said. “It wasn’t a drastic change from the beginning. I kind of got here and he just started with my follow-through. We started with legs after that. Then we started from the left to the middle to get it to the right.

“I think now my shot is just more consistent. It feels the same throughout the game instead of how I had it last year when it was kind of adjusting throughout the game. It just comes with hard work. I’m going to keep working and hopefully [shooting percentages] will keep going up.”

The Pelicans are 11-23 on the season. They are in 14th place in the Western Conference standings, but have won four games in a row.
