Lonzo Ball says he found out he got traded by the Los Angeles Lakers to the New Orleans Pelicans on Twitter.
Ball was in the car leaving his grandfather's house to attend his brother's basketball game when his manager told him to check Twitter.
The Lakers had just agreed to a deal to send Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram and draft picks to the Pelicans for superstar big man Anthony Davis.
Ball, the No. 2 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, says he has to take the trade personal since the Lakers basically said, “We don't want you anymore.”

Lonzo Ball finished his Lakers career with averages of 10.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 99 games. The 21-year-old Pelicans point guard is already an elite perimeter defender, but he’s going to have to become a better shooter in New Orleans if he wants to become an All-Star in the NBA.
Ball is shooting just 38.0 percent from the field, 31.5 percent from beyond the arc and 43.7 percent from the free-throw line in his first two seasons in the league. That's not going to cut it. Ball is a hard worker, so expect him to work tirelessly on his jump shot until he's an above average shooter.
The Pelicans can’t wait to see Ball and Jrue Holiday play together next season The two guards are going to wreck havoc on opposing guards in 2019-20. Some believe the Pelicans can make the playoffs next season with their revamped roster.
Along with acquiring Ball, Hart and Ingram in the Davis trade, New Orleans acquired Derrick Favors from the Utah Jazz, signed JJ Redick in free agency and drafted Zion Williamson with the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
