New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis is still questionable for the game against the Golden State Warriors, and head coach Alvin Gentry said they will still determine the All-Star big man’s status after their Wednesday shootaround.

Anthony Davis has already missed two straight games due to a right elbow strain. He didn’t play against the Utah Jazz despite initial expectations that he would feature in the game and go head-to-head with Jazz big man and reigning Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert.

The 25-year-old was also ruled out versus the Denver Nuggets two days later, ruining what could have been a great matchup between him and Serbian star Nikola Jokic.

In the four games he has played for the Pelicans this season, Anthony Davis is averaging 27.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.5 steals and 3.8 blocks. He’s doing it all for New Orleans, and without him, the team has lost their last two games.

Julius Randle and Jahlil Okafor shared the starting duties in the past two games in the absence of Anthony Davis, and should the five-time All-Star miss the game with the Warriors, one of them is expected to take the starting job again.

The Warriors are coming off a huge and record-breaking win over the Chicago Bulls, so the Pelicans could really use AD’s help in their upcoming encounter. However, the team certainly won’t risk their best player if he’s still not fully healed.
