The Pelicans have been one of the worst defensive teams in the league all year, and they gave up 130 points to an Orlando squad that has had plenty of trouble scoring the ball.
Eight of the nine Magic players that took the floor scored in double figures, with Jonathan Isaac and Nikola Vucevic both topping the 20-point mark. The Magic shot over 50 percent from the field and 17-of-34 from beyond the arc, getting open looks throughout the contest and committing just nine turnovers in comparison to 17 giveaways by the Pelicans.

However, this current losing streak has all but eliminated the Pelicans from the playoff race, and No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson has yet to play a single game as he rehabs from an arthroscopic procedure on his knee.
The Pelicans' slide has them thinking “long term” with respect to Williamson's availability, which calls into question whether he will even play at all this season.
Naturally, this could might lead to roster restructuring prior to the February deadline. Shooting guard J.J. Redick is among the names that has been tossed around as a potential trade candidate.
One bright spot for the Pelicans has been the sensational play of Brandon Ingram, who was averaging 25.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists in his first 22 games after coming over to New Orleans in the Anthony Davis trade.
