The New Orleans Pelicans are off to a 2-0 start, and their offense is on fire.
On Friday against the lowly Sacramento Kings, the Pelicans became the first team in NBA history to start a season with eight-straight quarters of scoring 30 or more points.
New Orleans routed the Houston Rockets on opening night, 131-112, and blew out the Kings Friday by a final score of 149-129.

The Pelicans lost Rajon Rondo and DeMarcus Cousins this summer in free agency. The team signed Elfrid Payton to replace Rondo and Julius Randle to replace Cousins. Through two games, the additions are looking pretty good.
Article Continues BelowPayton recorded a triple-double against the Rockets, while Randle registered 25 points and eight rebounds. Friday versus the Kings, Payton finished with 11 points, six rebounds and six assists, and Randle posted a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Nikola Mirotic continues to sizzle, scoring 36 points on the strength of five 3-pointers. He also grabbed nine rebounds.
Of course, any Pelicans game can't be talked about without mentioning superstar big man Anthony Davis. The Chicago native notched 25 points and 10 rebounds Friday in 27 minutes of action. Davis shot 8-of-12 from the field, 1-of-1 from beyond the 3-point line, and 8-of-12 from the free-throw line.
Both Davis and starting point guard Jrue Holiday, who manufactured 15 points and 10 assists Friday, didn’t even need to play in the fourth quarter. Things are looking good right now in The Big Easy.
