Joakim Noah is the New York Knicks‘ new 72 million dollar man.

Much like Derrick Rose, he is getting a new start in the Big Apple to help take the team to another playoff berth.

During his last season in Chicago, he was relegated to being a bench reserve before injuring his shoulder, and finishing the season only playing in 29 games.

It was certainly a disappointing season. A new coach, a new system, and chemistry issues took its toll on the Bulls and they missed the playoffs altogether.

Noah never had the opportunity to have a bounce back season because it was his contract year.

Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said the team decided not to re-sign Noah because he’s no longer a front line player.

That's certainly a stinger for a guy who was the heart-and-soul of the team for the years he played there.

What was Noah's response to this when reporters asked him his thoughts?

He’s entitled to his opinion. I feel I have no regrets about my time in Chicago. I gave it everything I had. To me that’s all that matters.

I did everything I could for that organization. I thought it was a little bit of a low blow, but at the end of the day I have nothing but respect for that organization. I’m just excited for this new chapter of my career

Noah doesn't have to regret a thing. All he can do is go out and prove Reinsdorf wrong.

He has a new contract, a new team, and the only thing left is to get back on the court and produce.
