The New York Knicks are expected to be one of the teams who will try to trade for New Orleans Pelicans' Anthony Davis. They have several young assets, plus the third overall pick, and there are people who believe that they can get this done.

Fox Sports 1 commentator Cris Carter believes that the Knicks will be Davis' team next season, because a trade involving the third overall pick will take place sometime between the draft and free agency.

The Knicks will have plenty of competition for Davis, however, as the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics are also going to assemble trade packages that can hopefully entice the Pelicans. At the end of the day, the outcome of this situation will depend on who has the best deal to offer.

Davis isn't the only player that the Knicks will go after this summer. They also have enough cap space to sign two players to max contracts. There are numerous reports that Golden State Warriors' Kevin Durant is already a lock to join them via free agency, and Boston Celtics' Kyrie Irving is also a big possibility.

If everything falls into place, the Knicks will have a big three of Davis, Durant, and Irving; all in their primes. This trio can definitely win championships especially if New York will be able to keep them together for a long time.

The future is looking bright for the city of New York. Now, all the Knicks need to do is get the job done and have a successful offseason.
