When he was still Chris Paul's agent last spring, Leon Rose was reportedly intrigued by the notion of the Houston Rockets offering Paul to the New York Knicks, according to Marc Berman of The New York Post.

The Rockets wound up trading Paul to the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, now that Rose is the new president of basketball operations for the Knicks, New York and Paul are once again going to be linked moving forward:

Last spring, then-agent Leon Rose was intrigued by the notion of the Rockets offering up his client Chris Paul to the Knicks, according to a league source.

According to an NBA source, Paul adores Rose, and a SiriusXM report surfaced Thursday that the Knicks are doing intel on the veteran point guard. Not that they need a lot of information — Paul had been with Rose at Creative Artists Agency for much of his career.

Paul has two years left on his monster contract after this season. He’ll make $41,358,814 in 2020-21 and has a player option worth $44,211,146 for the 2021-22 season.

The Knicks are desperate to get talent to New York, even if it's an aging Chris Paul, so don't be surprised if Rose tries and acquire his former client from the Thunder this summer.

The 2012-13 season was the last time the Knicks had a winning record and made the playoffs. No one really knows when New York is going to be competitive again.

The Knicks are certainly hoping Rose’s litany of connections in the NBA will help the team improve from top to bottom.
